Please do not eat any food and drink any liquid for 8 hours before your procedure/operation. You must have an empty stomach for anaesthetic safety.
You must arrange for a responsible adult to collect you at the hospital/day clinic when you’re discharged. You are not permitted to go home unaccompanied.
Fee Structure
Fees for procedures are linked to time in theatre.
This includes:
Pre-operative assessment. The anaesthesiologist will see you prior to the procedure (if possible) or otherwise in theatre
The procedure. This is calculated according the difficulty of the surgical procedure
Anaesthetic time
Some procedures are linked to a modifier
Additional fees
Here are some of the additional modifiers that will have an impact on the standard fee:
Unscheduled emergency consultation fee
All hours emergency fee
Epidurals, nerve blocks and/or PCA for pain relief
Invasive monitoring lines
Any procedure performed in any position other than lithotomy or supine
Head, neck and shoulder girdle procedures
BMI — Body Mass Index of more than 35
Control of blood pressure
Age — Younger than 1 year or older than 70 years
